Rasipuram Krishnaswamy Iyer Narayanaswamy, popularly known as R.K.Narayan is one of the most celebrated authors who is from Mysuru. He has penned down plenty of finest literary pieces which includes the iconic Malgudi Days, The Guide, The English Teacher and many more. RKN wrote most of his famous books during the 1950s when he lived at his house which is situated at Yadavagiri, Mysuru.
His house was converted into a museum a few years ago and has become the most interesting place of visit to book buffs since then. People who know and are fond of RKN’s works will not miss visiting this museum when in Mysore.
This villa is well maintained and houses all his works, rare photographs, awards won by him, things used by him such as writing tables, chairs, lamps etc. The clean white outlook of the house itself looks pleasing. Inside of this house gives an overview of his life and works. The interior is minimalistic and simple yet significant. This is a typical Old Mysore house and hence gives out a vintage feel.
