SAGARAKATTE: A PICTURESQUE TOURIST SPOT

Sagarkatte is an enchanting water place which is situated 25 kms from Mysore. The Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) dam is a few kilometres away from this place. Vyasaraya Matha is headquartered in Sagarakatte village. During monsoon, the backwaters shining splendidly like an ocean is a mesmerising sight.

A railway bridge cuts across the river to give a magnificent view on both sides of the railway track. The huge blanket of water lapping the luscious green fields and the palms swaying and reaching to the blue skies spotted and streaked with clouds makes a perfect landscape to freeze in a frame. Sagarkatte railway station is the perfect stop and a walk on the railway track lets you gaze at the enormous amount of water on either side of the railway bridge.

Sagarakatte is also a photographers’ paradise. There are many drone shots of this place which go viral. Many people come here exclusively for photoshoots. Gommatagiri, an age-old temple, is 10 mins away from this place. This is an apt place for a small picnic.
