Grand Jamboo Savari after 2 years
Grand and glorious Dasara festival was celebrated at Mysuru after 2 years. Yuva Dasara, Food Mela, Flower Show and Cultural Programmes entertained tourists throughout the festival. On the day of Vijayadashami, a majestic Jamboo Savari was held which was witnessed by around 10 lakh people. 47 tableaus, 70 cultural troupes, 9 elephants took part in the 4.6km long procession.
Hon’ble CM Basavaraj Bommai performed Nandi Dhwaja Pooje. Traditional Jatti Kalaga was held. Then the CM, District In-Charge Minister, District Commissioner, Commissioner of Police, Hon’ble Mayor, Kannada and Culture Minister, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodeyar inaugurated Jamboo Savari by showering flower petals on the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari which was placed in the glorious 750 kg Golden Howdah. Elephant Abhimanyu successfully carried Golden Howdah and made Dasara a grand success while lakhs of people witnessed this beautiful 4 centuries old tradition.
